New book unveils woke hypocrisies & restores balance in free thought

Clinton Maynard

Luke is joined by Melinda Richards, Business owner, social commentator, who argues that the term ‘woke’ should go beyond mere rhetoric, stressing the need for actions to align with beliefs.

In her new book, “You Can’t Say That! The Demise of Free Thought in Australia,” she explores the complexities of this concept, highlighting that true wokeness involves considering the broader context in which actions matter more than words.

According to Ms Richards, many who claim to be woke struggle to align their convictions with their daily practices.  She points out examples where people’s beliefs contradict their actions, such as advocating for environmental causes while using products made through unethical practices or promoting COVID vaccinations while shaming those with different views.  She also discusses the challenges of addressing issues like men in women’s spaces and mainstream media ownership.

Melinda Richards has become a significant voice in contemporary social and political discussions, advocating for pushing back against the dominance of woke language and extreme leftist narratives.

Her book aims to empower conservatives who feel silenced by societal trends, emphasising the importance of engaging openly in dialogue and restoring balance in discussions, social discourse, and policy settings.
