NT reverses its alcohol bans
Robyn Lambley MLA, Independent for the Northern Territory electorate of Araluen, joins Michael regarding the intervention-era alcohol bans in remote Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory being reversed after being in place for 15 years.
Ms Lambley observes that the “three take away alcohol outlets owned by Lhere Artepe Enterprises in Alice Springs TRIPLED their sales on Monday.”
“This comes as over 400 NT Aboriginal communities, town camps and out-stations had their alcohol bans lifted as of Saturday 16 July.”
“This change of legislation by the NT Fyles Labor Government, fully endorsed by Minister Chansey Paech, Member for Central Australia, will kill more Aboriginal people than any past Government policy seen in Australia. This is the definition of genocide!”
