Pathogens released to target invasive weeds

Two new biological control agents are being released to attack invasive weeds, which cost the agriculture industry nearly $5 billion annually.

The pathogens will be introduced across New South Wales, funded by the state government.

Rural reporter Ella Smith spoke to CSIRO’s Dr Ben Gooden about what these agents are, how they would work, and whether the approach could go national.
