Plan for international farm workers to fly direct to regional Australia
Pacific Islanders would fly directly to Mildura Airport and quarantine in Victoria’s North West under a plan to solve the farm worker shortage.
The plan would see about 150 people fly directly into the city, and complete their quarantine.
It would also without impacting the Federal Government’s cap on international arrivals.
The state’s horticulture industry is estimated to be facing a labour shortage of about 15,000 workers.
