Rale Rasic – a pioneer of football in Australia died this week aged 87

There hasn’t been much in the news about his passing but sports journalist Ray Gatt has prompted an acknowledgement from the Prime Minister, after a bit of nudging in a tweet. Ray justifies to Michael McLaren his belief that Rale was “An icon, a giant of Australian sport and up there with Bradman, Fraser, Laver, Goolagong”.
