Supply constraints give Toyota a slow start to 2023

Whilst supply constraints have affected most brands over the last two years
things are on the improve. Both Volkswagen and Skoda have kicked off the first
two months of the year in much better shape to 2022, Skoda sales up 75 percent,
VW up by 66 percent with its two small SUV’s, the T-Roc and T-Cross currently
the German brands best sellers. Market leader Toyota on the other hand has
suffered this year with continuing supply issues. Despite finishing 2022 rather
strongly sales in the two months are down 23 percent and its struggling to meet
demand on most of its models. The company suggesting the first half of the year
will be difficult but expecting to bounce back in the second half as supply
improves. Also suggesting its final sales result will depend on supply rather than
