Volkswagon’s Tiguan R SUV – The Tiguan SUV burger with the lot

Talking about Volkswagen’s Tiquan SUV, and with the supply of semi-
conductors improving recent strong deliveries have made it Volkswagen’s
second-best seller – sales up 208 percent. I have just driven the potent Tiguan R
all-wheel-drive – the performance flagship launched early last year – the Tiguan
burger with the works – a 2.0-litre turbo petrol four cylinder driving through a
seven-speed dual clutch automatic – in short it drives like a performance skewed
Audi from the same German family – yes, a performance SUV but visually the
only clue to it is large 21-inch alloy wheels with 255 x 35 series tyres that
obviously mean business, so too the large drilled disc brakes and blue painted
calipers. The Tiguan body is especially roomy for both passengers and luggage, the
performance R highly equipped with nappa leather seats, a head-up display, dual
three zone climate control, a power tailgate, adaptative cruise control, quad
exhaust, surround view cameras and front and rear parking sensors. At $73,790
it’s not inexpensive, recently receiving a $2,600 price lift due to the return of blind
spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert after they were deleted last year due to
semi-conductor shortages. The Volkswagen Tiguan R excels in the driving
department, and I’ll explain in my next segment.
