Overnight Ukraine claimed seven people were killed in the capital of Kyiv, after Russia fired at an evacuation convoy. Intelligence services have accused Russia of attacking the civilians, before forcing the survivors to turn back. The Mayor of Melitopol has been kidnapped by Russian forces on false accusations of terrorism. Over fifteen hundred civilians in Mariupol have been killed as a result of Russian shelling …and yet Russia continues to deny that it’s targeting civilians. But it’s not all going Putin’s way, Paul Monk is an author and former head of the China desk in the Defence Intelligence Organisation and explains to Chris Smith why Putin is struggling and why history is not on his side.
