Police officer spat on while making an arrest
A police officer has been spat on while making an arrest in inner Sydney.
Police were responding to a fight between two men at Surry Hills on Sunday evening.
One of the men ran off and is accused of spitting on an officer while they were taking him into custody.
The 27-year-old allegedly spat on the officer twice after he was arrested.
Both men were charged and refused bail.
They will appear in court today.
