‘Ponzi scheme’: Angus Taylor, Bill Shorten clash over housing bill
Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor and Government Services Minister Bill Shorten have butted heads on air over the controversial Housing Australia Future Fund bill.
Dissecting the bill on Afternoons with Deborah Knight, the Shadow Treasurer found himself in a heated debate with Shorten when he compared Labor’s $10 billion housing policy to a “crazy punting scheme.”
“If they were serious, they’d fund it properly from the budget,” Taylor said.
“That’s not what they’re doing, it’s like a Ponzi scheme and that’s why we’re opposed to it.”
