The new Powerhouse site in Parramatta has flooded after heavy rainfall that lashed Sydney yesterday.

Ben Fordham has joined a chorus of people warning against the controversial project which was championed by former arts minister Don Harwin.

He had assured the new site was in a “1-in-1,000 year flood zone”.

“Every way you look at this it is a complete disaster,” Ben said.

“Are you going to visit the site in Parramatta today, Don? Because if you do, you’ll need a kayak.”
