WATCH | Pregnant woman attacked in ‘despicable act’
A heavily pregnant woman has been viciously attacked in an allegedly unprovoked attack in Surry Hills this morning.
Police say the 26-year-old woman was walking to work when a 28-year-old Mount Druitt woman attacked her.
The attacker allegedly pulled the woman’s hair and rammed her into a power pole.
Police tell Ben Fordham the man in the red cap was having a “lovers tiff” with the Mount Druitt woman.
Detective Superintendent Gavin Wood tells Ben an off duty police officer and a member of the public intervened.
“It was a despicable act, it was a very very serious assault.”
