Presbyterian Church calls for right to BAN LGBTQ school captains
The Presbyterian Church of Australia wants to refuse students who have pre-marital sex or are gay from becoming school captain.
Five of Victoria’s most prestigious schools, including Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC), are operated by The Presbyterian Church.
PLC Principal, Dr Paul Burgis, has responded, saying, “When selecting school captains PLC Sydney asks no questions about student sexual activity or orientation. No one at the church has ever asked us to do so.”
“The church believes gay and sexually-active students will not be able to give appropriate leadership in a Christian school,” Herald Sun journalist, Susan O’Brien told Joe Hildebrand.
