Education Secretary confirms Bondi Beach Public School play ban will be lifted in Term 3
Deputy Secretary at the Department of Education Murat Dizdar said the “temporary safety” measure banning children from playing outside will end in Term 3.
Mr Dizdar told Jim Wilson, that measures will be put in place to inform parents about the update.
“I respect and appreciate our parent’s wishes around play and physical activity… it’s a decision that was always designed to be temporary.”

The NSW Shadow Education Minister Prue Car has questioned the government’s silence in relation to Bondi Beach Public School’s backwards decision to ban play before class.
“I would urge the government to intervene here and get some common sense,” Minister Car told Jim Wilson.
“It’s really disappointing that Dominic Perrottet & Sarah Mitchell have been really silent over this.
“The situation at Bondi Beach is pretty ridiculous.”
This comes after a slew of outraged parents contacted Jim Wilson on Drive to raise their concerns.
Bondi Public School parent and mother of two, Anita, believes “there’s a lot of parents that are looking at pulling their kids out of the school and that’s just such a shame.”
