Psychologist calls for firm consequences over violent bullying in schools
A Sydney private school says it sent a “clear message” in its response to claims year 7 students had been violently bullied.
Waverley College says a group of year 9 students responded “completely disproportionately” after having fruit and water thrown at them.
Six students have been suspended.
Criminal psychologist Tim Watson-Munro told Luke Grant it’s very depressing to hear about, and it isn’t an isolated incident.
“Drawing swastikas on hands, being made to bark like dogs, it’s just terrible.
“This is a cultural thing, and there has to be firm consequences.”
