Qantas pilot to be reunited with ‘first love’ as grounded fleet takes off
The Qantas A380 fleet will once again take to the skies from November 1, ferrying Australians and their families into and out of Sydney and Melbourne quarantine-free.
Thousands of staff will return to work in December as the airline brings forward international flights to several destinations.
Destinations include London and Los Angeles from November 1, Singapore from November 23, and many more including Delhi, Honolulu, Vancouver and Tokyo in December.
Qantas A380 captain and vice-president of the Australian and International Pilots Association Barry Jackson told Jim Wilson after a few “false starts”, he hopes this resumption of international travel is “here to stay”.
“My first love is flying aeroplanes, so … I’m looking forward to getting back into a seat.”
