Queensland grazier leaves ‘incredibly generous’ donation to Royal Flying Doctor Service
A generous Queensland grazier has left a huge multi-million dollar donation to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in his will.
The RDFS is often the difference between life and death for people living in rural and remote Australia.
Queensland farmer Geoffrey Carrick regularly donated to the organisation and was a strong supporter of the service.
Sadly, the grazier died in June.
But he left the RFDS a huge amount of money in his will, a staggering $5 million.
Katherine Ash from Queensland’s Royal Flying Doctor Service tells Luke Grant it’s “pretty incredible”.
“Geoff’s been a supporter of the Flying Doctor in Queensland since 2014. His first gift was $50.
“We knew he left a gift in his will but we had no idea how incredibly generous it was going to be.”
