Ray Hadley and Andrew Denton discuss their worst ever interviews

One of Australia’s greatest interviewers Andrew Denton returns to the TV tonight with his new show Interview.

The former ABC presenter will take to Channel 7, interviewing some of Australia and the world’s most interesting people.

It comes after a decade-long hiatus from the scene that he says needed to end.

“I sat out of this interview space for about 10 years, it’s been that long since Enough Rope ended.

“It surprised me the hole was never really filled… that long-form one-on-one interview.”

The show kicks off tonight with Led Zepplin frontman Robert Plant, swimmers Bronte and Cate Campbell and some extraordinary, everyday Australians.

Denton says he has “the same criteria for every guest”.

“Is the way they live or what they’re having to live through or how they’re going about that life fascinating?”

Denton and Ray also discuss their worst ever interviews… Andrew’s is a Hollywood starlet, Ray’s is one of the Seinfeld comedians.
