Ray Hadley calls out Labor’s ‘nothing to see here’ response to ‘mean girl’ allegations
Ray Hadley has called out Anthony Albanese for resisting calls for an inquiry into ‘mean girl’ behaviour in his party.
It’s believed workplace stress contributed to the heart attack that killed Senator Kimberley Kitching suddenly last week.
The Australian journalist Sharri Markson today reported a number of allegations of ‘mean girl’ behaviour toward Senator Kitching by her Labor colleagues.
Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese chalked the allegations up to hearsay and played down the need for an inquiry into the party’s culture.
“Because it’s two women, powerful women within the Labor Party, who allegedly treated this poor woman in that manner, it’s ‘nothing to see here’,” Ray said.
“It’s ‘we won’t have an inquiry out of respect for her memory’.
“That’s the very reason you should have an inquiry: out of respect for her memory, not the other way around.”
