Ray Hadley reveals holes in Blue Mountains City Council argument against suspension
Ray Hadley has identified glaring errors in Council’s submission against its suspension.
The disgraced council has prepared the submission in response to Local Government Minister Gabrielle Upton’s move to suspend council, after revelations of systemic asbestos mismanagement.
The submission contained some major errors and omissions and Ray is calling out their “lies”.
The council claims former senior staff member Mark Mulligan was not responsible for any asbestos management.
However, they admit Mulligan was employed to “review and improve the safety management systems” at the council.
Council also claims Mulligan’s relationship with Michael Tooma, the lawyer engaged to lead an independent investigation into asbestos issues at the council, ended in 2012.
Mr Tooma is listed as a referee on Mulligan’s resume in 2016.
Ray is now calling for the council’s mayor, Mayor Mark Greenhill, to resign for misleading staff, the community and the Minister.
