Ray Hadley reveals horrific incident at aged care home struggling with COVID
Ray Hadley has revealed a horrific incident of self-harm in a Queensland aged care centre struggling with a COVID outbreak.
A facility in Bethania has had 100 residents and 82 staff test positive to the virus, while 15 people have died.
Ray Hadley has been informed of allegations residents weren’t being fed or getting access to the appropriate medical treatment they required.
The nursing home has been the subject of a non-compliance notice since October last year after the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission found its COVID-19 outbreak management plan was deficient.
An elderly female aged care resident was taken to hospital after reportedly jumping off the third level of the building because of the unbearable pain she was in.
Jeta Gardens aged care facility have confirmed an investigation is underway. (Full statement below)
