Ray Hadley is on a truth-seeking mission over Queensland’s border entry requirements once the state reopens to COVID-19 hotspots. 

The borders will reopen to fully vaccinated people arriving from hotspots from December 17 at the latest, under some entry conditions.

While the state government has confirmed a negative COVID-19 test result will be mandatory, it isn’t known what proof will be required.

The confusion comes amid concerns the requirement will price many out of being able to travel to Queensland, with some private testing labs charging $150 per test.

“They can’t tell us today with any clarity on what we require – whether you need a certificate, a text on your phone,” Ray told Health Minister Greg Hunt.

“Is there any way you can talk to Yvette D’Ath, because we can’t get to her, to ask how it’s going to work?”

Mr Hunt said he’d be “very happy” to approach the Palaszczuk government with the queries and “work together” with Ray for answers.

“Don’t cancel your holiday just yet!” Ray said.

“Just give me another 24 hours to work with the federal Health Minister to try and get more clarity for you.”
