Ray Hadley suprises MND sufferer with an incredible gift!
In July last year Scott Barrett was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, a dreadful and incurable condition that will slowly end his life.
Despite this, insurance company TAL refused to pay out Scott’s life insurance because he may live longer than 12 months.
As result, Scott and his family were forced to cancel a final family holiday to Disneyland, including a special Celine Dion concert.
By the time the payout arrived, the disease had taken over Scott’s body and robbed him of the ability to walk.
Ray spoke with Scott to find out how he’s going and to give him an incredible gift.
“We had a talk to a really good mate of mine, Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Denis Handlin.
“He’s been a great supporter of mine with Motor Neurone Disease, raising money through the sale of our CDs.
“When I explained your circumstances he said, ‘no, don’t worry about it’.
“Denis will personally pay for all five of your Category A tickets, with wheelchair access, for the [Celine Dion] concert on the 27th of July.”
Ray will also organise transport from their home in the NSW Blue Mountains.
