Ray Hadley unleashes on Todd Greenberg and the NRL
Ray Hadley has launched a stunning attack on the NRL and its head honchos Todd Greenberg and Nick Weeks.
Yesterday the NRL made the disgraceful decision to leak private correspondence sent to Bob Fulton during the Manly salary cap investigation, in a bid to discredit the Rugby League legend.
Emails and texts were given to Channel 9 as Todd Greenberg continued to publicly discredit the immortal, despite no findings of wrongdoing being made against him.
The NRL claims it made repeated attempts to interview Bob, but fail to mention it was while he was overseas on holidays.
The last time Bob was contacted was on December 6, more than three months before results of the salary cap investigation were announced.
In a briefing before that announcement, Todd Greenberg told senior journalists that Bob Fulton would not be welcomed back into the game.
Ray has called the actions shameful.
“These two intellectual giants of the game want Bob Fulton banned while allowing Matthew Lodge back and while considering to allow Todd Carney to come back.
“Bob Fulton has devoted 50 years of his life to Rugby League… he’s helped the NRL with rule changes, he’s coached premiership sides, he’s been our national coach and, without doubt, one of the greatest players the game has ever produced.
“I supported Todd Greenberg’s elevation to CEO… my support, while ever he’s leaking to the media, means I’ll be taking a very close look at the actions of both these men at every opportunity.
“The NRL should hang their heads in collective shame. Hang your head in shame for the way you’ve treated someone without some opportunity to defend himself. December 6 was the last time you contacted him in Honolulu.”
