Ray Hadley’s meeting with Ivan Milat

It’s fair to say Ivan Milat wasn’t a big fan of Ray Hadley when they met, and that the feeling was more than mutual.

Australia’s most infamous serial killer has been transferred to the Long Bay prison hospital after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

It’s the 74-year-old’s first major stint outside of Goulburn Supermax since being convicted in 1996 of murdering seven hitchhikers.

And, like most Australians, Ray Hadley is counting the days until Milat’s death.

In 2012 the two came face when Ray was filming a television documentary called Inside.

Former Corrective Services Commissioner Ron Woodham took him on a rare tour of Supermax, which included a shock meeting with the mass murderer.

Ray tells the story of their fiery encounter.
