Ray Hadley warns minister: Change the decision or face the consequences

Article image for Ray Hadley warns minister: Change the decision or face the consequences

The federal government is dudding sufferers of cystic fibrosis (CF) while allowing others to rort the NDIS.

Children living with CF are being denied access to support because the department claims it’s a chronic illness and not a permanent condition meaning.

That goes against what former Social Services Minister Christian Porter told Ray Hadley last year, that “in the more severe cases… they would move into the NDIS.”

“Someone who has CF can be an entrant and transition into the NDIS, but… it would depend on the severity of the impact on the individual.”

Mr Porter’s successor Dan Tehan has backtracked on those words, telling Ray in a private conversation that no CF sufferers would be covered.

Ray gave the Minister a very clear warning about that decision.

“I’ll go after your government with every fibre of my being.

“If you’re going to dud people with cystic fibrosis you’re not a good government. You need to help people with CF, not shun them.”
