Ray slams ‘least informed’ commissioner after shambolic parliamentary appearance
Ray Hadley has gone after NSW Corrective Services Commissioner Peter Severin, calling him “the least informed” commissioner in the state.
It comes after Wednesday’s Budget Estimates, where Commissioner Severin fronted the committee, and true to form, “had a shocker,” says Ray.
Ray has detailed scores of inappropriate relationships between officers and inmates, endless scandals at the GEO-run Parklea Correctional Centre as well as shocking assaults on both inmates and staff.
All under the watch of Commissioner Severin.
“You’d think, considering the year he’s had, he’d be prepared to be grilled in Budget Estimates,” says Ray.
However, Commissioner Severin returned from leave the morning of the hearing, using that as an excuse as to why he wasn’t across basic details.
He couldn’t even answer if there’d been more reports of inappropriate behaviour.

The committee goes on to ask the Commissioner about incidents at Parklea which Ray exclusively reported last year, particularly one shocking allegation of an officer having her car torched.

After his disastrous show at Budget Estimates, Ray has issued a stern tip for Commissioner Severin.
“Go on your holidays, in fact, try and make it a more permanent one if you can, for the sake of prisons in New South Wales.
“And I keep telling David Elliott, the Minister in New South Wales, that he’s nursing a mug and eventually the mug will die in his arms.
“And the mug is the Commissioner.”
