‘Really, really poor’: Paul Gallen blasts Rabbitohs over internal dramas
Cronulla premiership-winning captain Paul Gallen has called out the South Sydney Rabbitohs for letting their internal issues play out in the public domain this week.
It’s been a turbulent week for the ‘pride of the league’ after the departure of club legend and Assistant Coach Sam Burgess this week, amid accusations star players Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker aren’t held to the same standard as teammates by coach Jason Demetriou.
Gallen, a member of The Continuous Call Team, says it’s poor that the saga has been played out in the media this week.
“I just cannot believe how public the South Sydney situation has been,” Gallen said.
“I think you’ve got to support the head coach no matter what, I really do.
“For the two assistants to have (apparently) made this public and to not support the head coach, and the rumours are they’ve been knifing him and talking badly about him to others, I feel that’s really, really poor.”
South Sydney have the bye this week and will fight for a spot in the top eight against the Roosters next week.
