Resources Minister demanding answers from Turnbull’s anti-coal architect

Resources Minister Matt Canavan wants an explanation from the architect of Malcolm Turnbull’s signature energy policy.
Energy Security Board Chairwoman Kerry Schott declared there was no longer an investment case to build new coal-fired power stations in Australia.
Senator Canavan tells Alan Jones he wants to see evidence to back up that claim, which he says goes against the advice of the Finkel Review.
“I’m just sick and tired of the fact-free, snake oil, details.
“I’ve asked Kerry to explain her comments, they’re definitely not consistent with the advice we’ve received previously.
“That review showed that a power source provided by solar and backed by storage would cost 70% more than coal.
“All I’m interested in are the facts because people’s jobs are on the line here.”
