King Charles III has written to Australian soldiers.

Ben Fordham has shared the contents of the letter with listeners this morning.

“I share my mother’s high regard for your courage and commitment,” he wrote in the letter.

Defence Minister Richard Marles told Ben it’s a “very special” letter to receive.

“This is something that’ll mean a lot to our serving men and women.

“There’s a very strong connection between the Royal Family and our Defence Force.”
