From pocket change to global fame, Australian coins have won silverware at the prestigious International Coin of The Year Awards, as Australia yet again impresses on the international stage.

The Royal Australian Mint won in two categories: the Best Circulating Coin in the world, and Most Artistic Coin following two impressive designs which made plenty of cents to win.

The Best Circulating’s design was to commemorate the honeybee industry in Australia, while the Artistic Coin’s design celebrates our beautiful Great Barrier Reef.
