Rural Aid to transform 10 drought-ravaged towns
Rural Aid has dedicated $1 million to makeover 10 country towns devastated by drought.
The 10 towns will receive a minimum of $100,000 each over five years to build a range of infrastructure projects town leaders identify as necessary.
The New South Wales towns of Walgett, Coolah, Brewarrina and Barraba and Queensland’s Alpha, Monto, Cunnamulla and Gayndah will be receiving this money.
Rural Aid CEO Charles Alder tells Ben Fordham the campaign will help these struggling communities.
“We will over the next five years help build a plan for the future… to put some fo these country towns back on the map.”
