Scott Morrison gives evidence at robodebt royal commission
Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison has told the Robodebt Royal Commission the mechanism behind the bungled scheme wasn’t new.
His evidence has centred around “income averaging”, which resulted in about 400,000 people wrongly receiving debt notices.
Mr Morrison says the system was in use before he took over as Social Services Minister, and his government only scaled it up.
