Senior Liberals push for female quotas
A group of senior Liberal politicians have begun a push for the introduction of gender quotas in the party.
Spearheaded by Linda Reynolds, the former Minister told The Australian today that she is “convinced we must implement enduring gender targets.”
Liberal Senator Holly Hughes responded to the calls from Ms Reynolds on Drive with Luke Grant.
“I don’t think we’ll be embracing quotas any time soon,” she said.
“We need to have a look at this holistically and I think putting just a number on something is ridiculous.”
