Shadow Agriculture Minister calls for action on foot and mouth outbreak
Nationals Leader David Littleproud has called for Murray Watt to take immediate action on the foot and mouth outbreak.
The Shadow Agriculture Minister has flagged the importance of things like foot baths and extra screening.
“Murray Watt wants to go back to the pub and ask more questions,” he said.
“[Foot baths] are a decisive action that should have been taken before Murray Watt got on that plane to Indonesia.
“There are hundreds streaming back to the country in the last week, when just one of them can bring it back on their boot.”
Coonamble Farmer Anne Cullen also spoke to Jim about her worries as a livestock producer.
“I’m absolutely appalled that all these measures weren’t put in a week ago,” she said.
“This is a disaster … It’s not rocket science, you just can’t bring your shoes back from Bali.”
