‘She’s been spot on’: Chris Waller confident Winx won’t be beaten in milestone race
Champion mare Winx is preparing for a milestone race tomorrow and trainer Chris Waller is confident she won’t be beaten.
The sprinter is aiming to break Black Caviar’s record of 25 consecutive wins when she returns to racing in the Group One Winx Stakes at Randwick.
Waller says his mare has the “highest rating in the world for a reason” and he can’t see a loss happening on Saturday.
“She’s consistently performing at the very best that you could possibly think of,” he tells Alan.
“So, the only way that she can get beaten is if she starts to show signs of slowing down.
“From what we’ve seen so far, over the past month or so as the pressure’s been on her work, she’s been spot on.”
Although Alan says he’ll be cheering for the racing icon on the weekend, Waller’s All Blacks won’t be getting the same treatment.
