‘She’s the carbon tax candidate’: Tony Abbott takes aim at his latest rival
Former prime minister Tony Abbott has labelled his main rival as the “carbon tax candidate” as the battle for Warringah intensifies.
Former Olympian Zali Steggal is standing as an Independent at the upcoming federal election.
She’s arguing the former PM has done very little to deal with climate change.
But Mr Abbott tells Ben Fordham he’s committed to lowering power prices for his constituents.
“She the more-action-on-climate-change candidate. Well, that means she’s the carbon tax candidate.
“It’s all very well saying we’ve got to do more but there is a cost to doing more, a very heavy cost as we’ve seen.”
