There’s been a development in the case of the shonky Plumbing Detectives.

Since exposing the dodgy dealings of the plumbers, Ray has been inundated with emails and photos from listeners about the con artists who have now expanded from New South Wales into Queensland.

Now, the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) has stepped in, launching a public warning against the Plumbing Detectives and its Director Belal Dassouki.

Commissioner Brett Bassett says “as a direct result” of the information provided by The Ray Hadley Morning Show, they found neither the Plumbing Detectives or Dassouki hold a QBCC license and therefore aren’t permitted to practice any building work, including plumbing, in Queensland.

While the distributed magnets (see below) show a license number, this is a New South Wales license number.

Commissioner Bassett tells Ray the warning comes not only in a bid to drive out dodgy contractors but to “protect consumers in their homes” and licensees who “play by the rules”.

He also credits Ray and his listeners for bringing forward the information which sparked the investigation.

“I just want to thank your listeners for sending the information through to us. That has been fundamentally important in us getting to this point.”
