British Prime Minister Theresa May announced a war on plastic waste and vowed to get rid of all plastic waste over the next 25 years.

Proposed policies include plastic-free aisles in supermarkets and taxing of takeaway containers.

Michael McLaren speaks with Managing Director of Clean Up Australia Terrie-Ann Johnson to see if Australia should follow suit.

“It’s ambitious, but it’s also very doable.

“Manufacturers need to come up with alternatives.

“Some of these edible alternatives are really great. You could eat the packaging, it could be part of the experience.”
