Should Australia introduce gender quotas?
A debate on whether gender quotas are necessary for Australia.
The Founder of Hilma’s Network, Charlotte Mortlock told Chris she believes gender quotas are necessary as they can be used as a “correction mechanism”.
“You’re going to be able to soundboard your ideas off a group of people who are more reflective of society and are less homogenous, Mr Mortlock said.
“I definitely think that is a benefit.”
Nicolle Flint, the Former Liberal MP for Boothby argued that quotas are only “insuring the policy of the outcome, not the opportunity”.
“Who wants to be that woman or that person,” Mrs Flint said.
