Sidoti ‘failed at every opportunity’ to explain misconduct allegations
Sports Minister John Sidoti failed continuously to explain allegations of misconduct over investment properties near government projects, according to Greens MLC David Shoebridge.
Mr Sidoti is denying claims he didn’t declare his stake in a $70-million property development near the new Rouse Hill metro station.
Following a heated budget estimates hearing, Labor has referred the Liberal member for Drummoyne to the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) and is calling on the Premier to stand him down.
Greens MLC David Shoebridge, who questioned Mr Sidoti during yesterday’s hearing, tells Ray Hadley the Minister “failed at every opportunity” to explain himself.
“He may be right, he may have complied… but if that allows you to be the Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and a property developer at the same time, well we’ve got a fundamental problem with the rules in NSW.”
