Skyrocketing energy costs force businesses to consider cutting jobs
The government is considering new regulations to lower power prices as companies across Australia face crippling energy costs.
Snackbrands Australia, the makers of Cheezels, Kettle, CC’s and Thins, has had its gas bill jump astronomically from $3 million to $9 million a year.
Australian Workers’ Union national secretary Daniel Walton told Ray Hadley they are one of the many companies experiencing extraordinary pain.
“We are putting a lot of pressure on the government to do something to fix this crisis.
“Without an outcome in the distant future, in the next few weeks and months, some good quality jobs are going to disappear.”
