Defence Minister Christopher Pyne has likened the toppling of Malcolm Turnbull to the killing of Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia.

In C.S Lewis’ Narnia series, Aslan is the lion king, and a god-like character.

Mr Pyne says his old boss, former PM Mr Turnbull, was like Aslan and admitted after Mr Turnbull was rolled from the top job, he cried all the way home to Adelaide.

“Now, I checked, it’s a 90-minute flight from Canberra to Adelaide, so that’s a long sob,” says Ben Fordham.

And former chief of staff to Tony Abbott, Peta Credlin can’t help but question the minister’s position.

“That’s the sort of hard man you want in the Defence portfolio isn’t it,” Peta tells Ben.

“That’s the guy you really want to be your Defence Minister…

“I mean, the soldiers would have a lot of respect for a bloke like that.”
