“Something has to change”: Calls for mandatory seatbelt warning lights on buses
Following the tragic bus crash in the Hunter Valley over the long weekend, Ray Hadley has called for swift political action to implement seatbelt warning lights on buses equipped with seatbelts.
“We don’t need to wait for a coroner’s inquest to take action,” Ray insisted, drawing parallels with the quick implementation of the ‘John Howard gun laws’ following the Port Arthur massacre in 1996.
Hadley was unequivocal in his demand for political leaders to exhibit the same determination in enforcing seatbelt regulations on buses.
He has called for buses to implement the same seat belt warning lights that already exist in cars.
