Ben Fordham has slammed a memo to bureaucrats, restricting their language towards veterans.

An internal memo sent to staff at the Department of Veterans’ Affairs banned the use of “thank you for your service” in press releases, websites or social media posts.

“This sounds like a bad joke but it’s legit,” Ben said.

“What on earth are you thinking, Minister?”

The Prime Minister’s office has told Ben Fordham, “The Prime Minister has championed the term and will continue to use it as part of veteran acknowledgements.”
