Souths rocked by lewd scandal on eve of their biggest game
On the eve of one of their biggest games of the season, the Rabbitohs are facing a lewd video chat scandal.
South Sydney is dealing with controversy ahead of their NRL elimination semi-final with allegations players exposed themselves to a woman in an online video call.
A 23-year-old woman claims she was on a video call with several high-profile Rabbitohs back in May, when two players exposed themselves without her consent leaving her feeling “violated and disgusted”.
Nine News reporter Neil Breen tells Ben Fordham the young woman involved got to know one of the players over social media “then when the Rabbitohs were in New Zealand celebrating their big win against the Warriors “all the boys got out on the beers… and they thought it was a good idea to face time this girl”.
According to her, “she says the first Facetime call was kind of fun,” Neill tells Ben.
“But she says that that escalated to the point where one of the players was face-timing her through the night from his own room in privacy standing naked.
“And by the sixth or seventh phone call, she no longer found it funny.”
South Sydney says it will conduct a thorough investigation, in conjunction with the NRL Integrity Unit.
