Special Australia Day guest: Rod Laver

Rod Laver is Australia’s, and arguably the world’s, greatest ever tennis player.
He’s the only male or female player in history to win two calendar Grand Slams in singles. He won a record 200 tournaments and held the world-number-one ranking from 1964 to 1970.
He’s also a top bloke, joining Steve Price as a special Australia Day guest.
Despite spending much of his time overseas these days, Mr laver says there’s nowhere he’d rather be on our national day.
“It’s an honour to be an Australian to begin with and to be here on Australia Day is even more fun, to see all the festivities that go on.
