State government to ban unaccredited emergency accommodation for children in foster care following review

The government will ban unaccredited emergency accommodation for children in the foster care system and provide more funding to retain accredited foster carers.
NSW Minister for Families and Communities, Kate Washington says children in for-profit alternative care arrangements face terrible outcomes and are paying the biggest price.
“They don’t belong in hotels, motels or caravan parks with 24/7 shift workers instead of foster carers,” she told Ray Hadley.
