Multiple listeners who have been waiting for over 10 weeks to receive their passports have contacted Ben Fordham Live desperate to keep their thousands of dollars in holiday bookings.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has declined invitations to appear on Ben Fordham Live to front up the Australian public.

Travel expert Quentin Long told Ben Fordham the call centre is “just hanging up on people”.

Mr Long has suggested Aussies chasing up their passport try the following:

1. Email passports.clientservices@dfat.gov.au
2. Put a complaint in through the DFAT website. (It may not yield a timely response)
3. Contact your travel agent who may be able to assist.
