Mother of murdered children found dead, five months after horrific attack
A mother whose two children who were brutally murdered by their father in a shooting rampage at their West Pennant Hills home, has been found dead.
Just after 10am today, police returned to the home on Hull Road with concerns for Olga Edwards’ welfare after they had been unable to contact her.
Sadly, they found her dead.
In July, the 68-year-old man went to his estranged wife’s home and shot dead their two children in a planned and premeditated attack.
15-year-old Jack tried to save his 13-year-old sister, Jennifer, but both were killed.
Edwards then drove to his own house in Normanhurst and killed himself.
Later that afternoon, Olga returned home from work to find her children.
The community of West Pennant Hills rushed to help the poor mother left behind.
A Go Fund Me page was set up to assist with the cost of funerals and tens of thousands of dollars was donated.
But despite all the help, it was sadly not enough.
Today, 37-year-old Olga Edwards passed away.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
Detective Superintendent David Waddell tells Ben Fordham “it’s a tragic set of circumstances”.
